Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia is ready to play anywhere Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal wants him to.

The Dutchman has been forced to use players such as Valencia out of position this season due to the mounting injury concerns at Old Trafford.

Valencia, who is a winger by trade, has often played as a full-back, wing-back and even in the centre of the park, according to Van Gaal’s needs.

And the Ecuadorian has no complaints against the manager. He insisted that he is ready to do his best in whatever role Van Gaal wants him to play in the team.

"The manager has decided to play me in a number of positions: sometimes right-back, sometimes wide midfield, other times in central midfield”, the Ecuadorian told United Review.

“These are decisions he takes and what I do is take them on board and put them into practice.”

Valencia has mostly been used as a right-back or recently as a right wing-back because of Rafael’s injury concerns this season and the winger is enjoying taking up the challenge of a more defensive role where each mistake could be costly for the team.

"You have to really concentrate for the entire 90 minutes [at right-back].

"You can’t afford to make any kind of mistake because, if you do, the forwards you are up against are then in on your goal."

With Rafael still out, Valencia is again expected to feature as a right sided full-back when Manchester United host Hull tomorrow at Old Trafford.
