Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon expects to complete the signing of Eidur Gudjohnsen in time for the club's Championship clash against Reading.

The 36-year-old forward, who has been a free agent since parting ways with Club Brugge, has been training with the Trotters.

And Gudjohnsen has done enough to earn a deal at Bolton, a club he previously played for between 1998 and 2000.

Lennon was quoted as saying by the BBC: "I'm assuming everything's agreed.

"If there's any hold-ups it'll be a minor thing and I'm hoping to have him in the squad for the weekend."

Gudjohnsen counts both Barcelona and Chelsea amongst his former clubs and will be aiming to make an impact with the Trotters.

Bolton currently sit 18th in the Championship table with 21 points from 19 games.
