Leeds United sporting director Nicola Salerno admits the Whites need to sign another striker and a midfielder with experience in the January transfer window.

Salerno, along with club owner Massimo Cellino, was extremely active over the summer and the duo added a number of players from their native Italy.

Wholesale changes in January are unlikely however, despite Leeds' poor position in the Championship table; they sit just 16th.

And instead Salerno is thinking about targeted additions, with just two areas needing attention, he feels.

"Soon we will talk about it [January], but we have to try to work out what to do", the sporting director told Tutto Mercato.

"We can't do that much, but we will make targeted moves.

"We are lacking going forward.

"We will take a striker and also a midfielder with experience."

Leeds went down to a 4-1 defeat away at Ipswich Town yesterday.
