Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Joel Campbell will not leave the club during the winter transfer window.

The Costa Rica international, who impressed at the 2014 World Cup, returned to Arsenal at the start of the season after the spending the last three seasons on loan at Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiacos respectively.

However, the striker has found game time hard to come by at the Emirates Stadium, having made just seven appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this term.

As a result, Campbell has been linked with a move away from Arsenal in January, with Inter Milan, AC Milan, Galatasaray and Benfica all interested in roping in the 22-year-old.

But Wenger insisted that Campbell, who featured in his side’s 4-1 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League last night, will stay put at the north London club.
