Celtic have decided to rest captain Scott Brown for their Europa League clash against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday.

The Scottish champions have already qualified for the last 32 of the competition and have decided against risking the Scotland midfielder, who would pick up a suspension with another booking in Croatia.

Winger James Forrest, who is still struggling to regain full fitness following an injury, has also been rested for the game, but is expected to be fit for Sunday’s league fixture against St. Mirren.

Defenders Mikael Lustig, Jason Denayer and Charlie Mulgrew are also unavailable for Celtic’s trip to Croatia due to injuries.

"We will treat them with respect”, Celtic assistant manager John Collins told the BBC.
