Arouna Kone has explained that he is preparing for his “second debut” for Everton ahead of his side’s Europa League fixture against Krasnodar tonight.

The Ivory Coast international, who joined the Toffees from Wigan Athletic in 2013, is yet to feature in a senior game for the Merseyside club since picking up a serious knee injury last October.

However, Everton boss Roberto Martinez confirmed that the striker will start in the club’s final Europa League group stage fixture against the Russian outfit at Goodison Park.

And Kone, who is yet to score for Everton, insisted that he is delighted to be back in the reckoning for first team action once again.

“It is going to be absolutely fantastic”, he told the club’s official site.
