Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho has insisted that his side want to top their Europa League group by claiming a positive result against Besiktas tonight.

Spurs, who edged out Partizan 1-0 in their last Europa League outing in late November, are currently atop Group C with 11 points from five games, two ahead of Besiktas.

Hence, any result other than a defeat in Turkey will enable Tottenham to win their group.

And Paulinho, whose side are yet to lose a fixture in Europe this season, is confident about the White Hart Lane outfit coming out with a positive result against Besiktas.

“We can win at Besiktas if we play well, if we work hard and if we help each other”, the Brazilian told his club’s official site.

“If we perform like we have done in the other games in Europe than we have a good chance of getting a result.

“Of course, we want to finish first in the group, but it’s important to play well on Thursday so we can achieve that.

“Finishing top of the table would be very good for us and after that we will see which team we will play against in the next round.”

Tottenham, who drew 1-1 with Besiktas in the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane in October, are currently 10th in the Premier League with 21 points from 15 games, 15 behind leaders Chelsea.
