Roma have agreed a deal in principle to sign Liverpool and England full-back Glen Johnson next summer, it has been claimed.

Johnson is out of contract at the end of the season and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has himself admitted that he is in the dark on whether the club are planning to offer a new deal to the England international.




With his contract expiring, the 30-year-old is free to agree a pre-contract in January with any club for a summer move.

And according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have agreed a deal in principle with the Liverpool full-back to sign him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
 


There were other Italian clubs who were in the race for Johnson’s signature, but Roma have nudged ahead to agree personal terms with the 30-year-old.
