Marco van Ginkel is not expected to play again this year due to an ankle injury, the latest blow for the midfielder.

Van Ginkel missed the majority of last season for Chelsea with a cruciate knee ligament injury and was then sent on a season-long loan to AC Milan this summer.




He has struggled to earn playing time in Italy and is currently out with an ankle injury.

And according to Dutch broadcaster NOS, Van Ginkel is not expected to play again this year.

 


The midfielder is now looking at early 2015 as a potential return date.
