Veteran Dutch coach Co Adriaanse is optimistic about the future of football in the Netherlands and believes the next generation of Robin van Persies and Arjen Robbens are on the way.

There has been concern at the increasingly younger age at which talents are leaving the Netherlands to seek their fortune, often skipping what is viewed as an important development step in their homeland.

But Adriaanse, with a nod to talents such as PSV Eindhoven's duo of Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum, along with Ajax's Davy Klaassen, sees a bright future.

"The difference in financial capability makes competing with foreign clubs tricky. Players will still leave young, that is well known", the 67-year-old told the Algemeen Dagblad.

"But as long as clubs pay millions for our Eredivisie players, we're doing something right", he continued.

"Often enough people say there is a gaping hole from the generation of Robben, Van Persie, [Wesley] Sneijder, but with guys like Wijnaldum, Depay, Klaassen and some young Feyenoord talents, the same can be achieved.

"And after them, looking at the next talents, the picture is not so bleak."
