Manchester United target and Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman has indicated that he will stay at Roma until the end of the season.

Louis van Gaal is a big fan of the Roma midfielder and would have tried to sign him in the summer if Strootman had not been injured.

The Dutch midfielder recently returned from his long injury layoff and it is believed that Van Gaal is plotting a move for him next month.

Some have claimed that a deal is all but done and the move will definitely happen next summer, which the Roma hierarchy have strongly denied.

The midfielder himself has now indicated that he is not considering a January transfer, which will calm the nerves of the officials at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I cannot wait to play the two games against them [Feyenoord] in February [in our Europa League round of 32 tie]”, the Dutchman wrote on his Facebook page.

“They are a young and talented team and have managed to qualify from a difficult group.”
