Jose Mourinho is delighted with his side's professionalism after they visited Derby County in the League Cup and won 3-1, booking a spot in the semi-final of the tournament.

Eden Hazard gave Chelsea the lead at Pride Park in the 23rd minute, putting the Blues in control of the League Cup game.

And it looked game over when Filipe Luis doubled Chelsea's lead in the 56th minute.

But a Craig Bryson strike in the 71st minute rallied the home side and gave them hope of a comeback.

They were stopped in their tracks though when Jake Buxton was sent off soon after, judged to have prevented a clear goalscoring opportunity for Loic Remy.

And Chelsea then grabbed a third through Andre Schurrle (82nd minute).

For Mourinho, it had been an ultra professional display.

"I think [it was a professional performance] and if you don't do that you don't win", he told Sky Sports.

"They are a Championship side, but not a typical Championship side, they have more quality than that and they play good football.

"They had fantastic support in their stadium, but I think we played in a very professional way and we controlled the game for most of the time.

"But they fought until the end."

The Chelsea boss also had warm words for Cesc Fabregas, who was voted man of the match.

"He is playing so well for us and what I like especially more than his quality is the person, the professional, a big player like him, a world champion, came here to play a Capital One Cup match and played the way he did.

"This is the kind of attitude I want in my players. All of them were very professional."
