Arsene Wenger has backed Arsenal legend Thierry Henry to become a world-class pundit following his retirement, while restating his belief that the Frenchman will be back at the Emirates Stadium eventually in some capacity.

Henry announced his retirement from football earlier this week, following the ending of his contract with MLS side New York Red Bulls, and will take up a role as a pundit with British broadcaster Sky Sports.

Wenger feels Henry will excel in his new role, even though he sees the former striker back at Arsenal one day.

Wenger told L'Equipe: "He will be back at Arsenal one day. Coach? Manager? Director? I do not know.
