FC Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez has not ruled out following Pep Guardiola’s lead from Barcelona’s midfield to the touchline at the Camp Nou once he hangs up his boots.

On the prospect of managing Barcelona in the future he told El Pais: “Hopefully. More in this house, whatever it is.”

The mainstay of Barcelona’s midfield for the past ten years, he went on to play the midfield distributor role that Guardioa played to perfection for a decade before his move to Brescia in the early 2000s.

The 34-year-old midfield maestro recently acknowledged that he now struggles to play every three days.

Speaking of his successors once he moves on or retires the 34-year-old further said: “If you look at Barca, there are those who can make a career for 10 years: [Sergio] Busquets, 26 years, Sergi Samper, [Andres] Iniesta, Rafinha”.

Barcelona will play Cordoba before La Liga’s winter break starts and will look to gain the three points to challenge Real Madrid for the title.
