Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that England boss Roy Hodgson is lucky to have a striker like Harry Kane at his disposal.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for his club Tottenham this season, having scored 12 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions.

And after watching the youngster during the Tottenham 2-1 win over Swansea on Sunday, Pardew believes that Kane is nothing less than "fabulous".

Kane's abilities inside the box and his unbelievable pace are what Pardew believes have been particularly impressive.

"I think he is fabulous", Pardew was quoted as saying by ITV.

"I watched him on Sunday and when you have got an English striker who can do 13km at pace and have the quality and technical ability in the box, Roy Hodgson should count himself very lucky."

Kane has so far played ten matches for the England Under-21 team, having scored eight goals.

The 21-year-old is expected to take to the field against Pardew's side in tonight's League Cup quarter-final at White Hart Lane.
