Leeds United sporting director Nicola Salerno is a firm fan of young attacking midfielder Matias Vecino and has tipped him to make the grade at the highest level.

The 23-year-old is currently on loan from Fiorentina at Empoli and has made a big impression on Salerno.

The Leeds transfer supremo, who joined the Elland Road club to work for former Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino, is currently at the WyScout forum in London, where agents, scouts and club officials gather to talk transfers.

Salerno was speaking about the Uruguayan midfielder and told Tutto Mercato that "Vecino will become a top player".
