Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has insisted that Arsenal linked attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir is not for sale.

A product of Lyon’s youth academy, the 21-year-old schemer is one of the brightest young talents of French football.

A French Under-21 international, Fekir made his league debut for the club last year and has already made 16 appearances for Lyon this season.

His performances in France have attracted the interest of Arsene Wenger, who always has an eye for young talent, and the Arsenal manager is keen to bring the schemer to north London.

But the Lyon president stressed that Fekir is not for sale and believes the 21-year-old has a big future at the club.

“He will remain with us”, Aulas told RMC.

“He can become a very good footballer in the next two to three years.

“Though the comparison is not right, Fekir is our own [Lionel] Messi.”

The 21-year-old still has more than four years left on his contract and he is thought to be valued at a minimum of €10m by Les Gones.
