Daley Blind is a firm fan of countryman Arjen Robben and believes he has proven himself to be one of the best players in world football over a lengthy period.
The Bayern Munich winger picked up the Dutch Sportsman of the Year award at a ceremony last night, while Louis van Gaal won Coach of the Year.
For Blind the accolade was richly deserved with Robben having excelled for a number of years.
"He has been proving for years that he is perhaps one of the best players in the world", the Manchester United midfielder told NUsport.

"It is right that he should take the prize home", he added.
And Blind's words were echoed by club team-mate Robin van Persie, who is also a firm fan of Robben's talents and does not believe it was a given that a footballer would win the award.
"Robben has had a fantastic year", said Van Persie.
"It was not so obvious that a footballer would win."
