Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker believes that containing Jefferson Montero was probably the biggest challenge he could have faced post his lengthy injury layoff.

The 24-year-old has been troubled with multiple injury problems and only returned to action recently, with the match against Swansea being his second since his comeback.

And according to the England international, playing against Montero was probably the biggest challenge he could have come across post his break.

Montero, Walker believes, was probably the quickest player on the pitch and facing him after such a prolonged absence was really challenging.

“It couldn’t have gone any better really”, Walker told his club's official site.

“Montero is probably the quickest I’ve come up against and after nine months out, you don’t really need that!"

Walker on his part thanked Tottenham's fitness coaches for having got him back to "good shape."

“I thought I did okay, so credit to the fitness coaches who have got me back into good shape.

"Hopefully it’s a stepping stone in the right direction."
