Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is expecting a tough League Cup semi-final tie after his side were drawn against Sheffield United.

Pochettino watched his men run riot against Newcastle United at White Hart Lane this evening, securing a 4-0 win to march into the semi-final.




Nabil Bentaleb gave Tottenham the lead in the 18th minute before Nacer Chadli doubled their advantage in the 46th minute.

 


Harry Kane made it three in the 65th minute, while Roberto Soldado, on off the bench, got in on the act too by scoring in the 70th minute.

And post-match Pochettino discovered Spurs have been paired with Sheffield United, with the League Cup's other semi-final Liverpool vs Chelsea.

"We have respect for Sheffield United – it is never easy", the Argentine was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"Yesterday they played very well [to beat Southampton] and deserve to be in semi-final.

"We expect a tough game."
