Cruzeiro have knocked back a second bid from Real Madrid for Arsenal target Lucas Silva and are still holding out for €15m.

According to reports in Brazil, Real Madrid officials have been in lengthy negotiations with the Cruzeiro hierarchy for the last few days over a new offer for Silva, but met with another negative response.

The latest bid was believed to be an improvement on the first Real Madrid offer of €12m, but falls short of the €15m fee that Cruzeiro are demanding for the midfielder.

The Brazilians are not wavering from their stance and are not ready to sell the midfielder for anything less than their desired fee.

To make the transfer even more complicated for Real Madrid, Arsenal have already tabled a €15m bid for Silva and are awaiting a response from the player.

The only thing going in Real Madrid’s favour is that the midfielder wants to join Los Blancos and is ready to wait patiently for the club to meet Cruzeiro’s demands.

Silva’s father has already stated that a summer move for his son is preferable to a transfer next month, which gives Real Madrid more time to negotiate a fee with the Brazilian outfit.
