Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Benjamin Stambouli, who wasn’t involved in their league defeat at the hands of Newcastle United, has made it clear that his team will look to make amends when they entertain the Magpies at White Hart Lane in a League Cup semi-final tonight.

Newcastle defeated the north Londoners on 26th October as they embarked on a five-match winning streak to propel themselves out of the relegation mire.

“We recently lost to Newcastle in the league so this is a chance for revenge”, the 24-year-old told his club’s site.

“We want to recover some pride after the last game against them, but we have a good chance to do well in this competition as well. I have a feeling that we can do something special in this cup”, he continued.

The match is scheduled to be played this evening.

“I think this will be a great match for us and for the fans. We’ll be focused and we’ll give ourselves the best chance we can of getting through to the next stage”, he further added.

Newcastle, who were blitzed away 4-1 in their last Premier League game at the Emirates by Arsenal, will look to progress to the League Cup final.
