West Ham have taken a big step forward towards winning the race for talented Brescia midfielder Ismail H'Maidat.
The young midfielder, who spent time on trial with Arsenal in 2012, is interesting a number of clubs in Italy, including AC Milan and Sampdoria.
However, West Ham are doing the legwork on a deal to kick in next month and the player's agent recently met with Hammers officials.
According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, H'Maidat's representatives met West Ham officials on Monday for talks.

And the meeting was quickly described as "positive".
No decision on H'Maidat's future is expected yet however and Sampdoria's sporting director recently also met with the player's agent.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is a product of Anderlecht's youth system.
