Zenit Saint-Petersburg boss Andre Villas-Boas is impressed with the way Cristiano Ronaldo has not only developed his game, but also his behaviour on the pitch.

The Portuguese national team captain has been in scintillating form this season for Real Madrid, scoring 25 league goals in 14 appearances and is widely regarded as the favourite to win the Ballon d’Or next month.

He has a staggering goalscoring record at the Santiago Bernabeu and has scored 284 goals in 270 games for the current European champions.

Villas-Boas has kept a close eye on his compatriot’s rise over the years and revealed that more than Ronaldo’s performances, it is his demeanour on the pitch that has impressed him the most.

The former Tottenham boss has noticed a change in the World Player of the Year’s attitude over the years and feels that he has developed an insatiable thirst for success that has allowed him to be the player that he is today.

"Even his body language on the pitch has changed, and that favours him even more, both as a player and a sports personality", the former Tottenham boss told Portuguese television channel TVI.

"In the past two years, I've seen a change in attitude in Cristiano Ronaldo; an incredible dedication to his job, an impressive desire to win, even though his value has been questioned because of the quality of his closest rival [Lionel Messi]."
