Leeds United have confirmed the arrival of Steve Thompson at the club as assistant head coach.

Thompson links up with head coach Neil Redfearn, who has been working without an assistant since being appointed permanently earlier this season.

Leeds have been chasing Thompson for a number of weeks and Redfearn himself admitted the process was dragging on.

But now the Whites have landed Redfearn's preferred assistant and Thompson joins from Huddersfield Town on a contract until the end of the season, with an option for a further year.
