Inter coach Roberto Mancini believes that Mario Balotelli still has some way to go before he can be compared with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Mancini coached Balotelli at both Inter and Manchester City, while the controversial Italian striker now plays for Liverpool following a £16m summer move from AC Milan.

Today, at the University of Milan, Mancini was asked whether Balotelli could match Ibrahimovic, another former Inter player.

"Balotelli wants to be like Ibrahimovic, but Zlatan has a few more years experience, quality, class and power that he has yet to acquire", Mancini explained.

"Mario has an opportunity, but for the moment that's too much to think about.

"I hope and wish for him to match Ibrahimovic."

Balotelli is currently sidelined with a groin injury at Liverpool and is still waiting to score his first Premier League goal for the Reds.
