Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is having second thoughts about making a January move for Arsenal target Lucas Silva.

Cruzeiro have already rejected two bids for their midfiedler from Real Madrid and they are standing firm on their asking price of €15m.

Arsenal have already met Cruzeiro’s demands for Silva, but the player is more interested in a switch to Real Madrid and is waiting for their next move in the transfer saga.

And Silva might have to wait a bit longer as according to Madrid-based daily Marca, Ancelotti is currently having second thoughts about bringing in Silva in January.

Ancelotti’s apprehensions lie in the fact that Luka Modric’s recovery from his injury has been quicker than expected and he might return to action sooner than initially assessed.

With Modric’s return to the team, Ancelotti might not need another midfielder for the second half of the season and if Silva arrives in January, then he will not get the required amount of minutes.

This plays into the hands of the midfielder, whose father has already stated that a summer move for his son is the preferred option and it will also give Real Madrid more time to negotiate the fee with Cruzeiro.

It remains to be seen how Arsenal go about their business in convincing the player about the feasibility of his move to north London.
