Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Belgian forward Eden Hazard is set to sign a new contract with the club soon.

Hazard has been a revelation for the Pensioners since joining them in 2012 and has managed a total of 39 goals for Mourinho's side in 132 matches so far.

His form this season has been equally impressive, having already netted nine goals in 24 matches and he has also provided his team-mates with eight equally important assists.

And now the Premier League leaders are preparing a lucrative £200,000 a-week contract to tie down the 23-year-old to a long-term deal.

"He will [sign the contract]", Mourinho told a press conference.

"I was never worried about it, since the moment I met his father.

"Everything was very clear about their intentions and their happiness to stay with Chelsea.

"After that, it becomes a numbers situation. When it becomes a number situation, I'm more than happy to be out.

"But my club always told me that the situation would finish with a new contract, so I was never worried about that."
