Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor will be available for selection for Saturday's match against Burnley, but is unlikely to start, manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed.

The Togo international had been granted compassionate leave, having last played for the club in November.

However, Pochettino has now confirmed that the striker is getting better and will soon regain 100 per cent match fitness.

The 42-year-old went on to add that the former Manchester City star needs training in order to improve, especially in terms of his physical condition.

"He's available", Pochettino was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"After, we will see if I pick him or not. I'm happy with Ade and how he's been training. Maybe he's not 100 per cent yet, but he's not far away.

"He's getting better. He needs training, he needs to improve, especially his physical condition, but he's getting better."

Adebayor, who has played 12 matches for Tottenham this season, having scored two goals, last played against Stoke City on 9th November.
