Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has said that there are no new developments on David de Gea’s contract situation.

The Spaniard has been in scintillating form for Manchester United this season, making some first-rate saves to earn points for his side.

He picked up the Man of the Match award for his performance against Liverpool last Sunday, a game that the Red Devils won 3-0.

With his contract expiring in the summer of 2016 and Real Madrid lurking on the horizon, the Old Trafford faithful are worried about the shot-stopper’s future at the club.

On being asked about De Gea’s contract, Van Gaal said: "No news, otherwise we would give that news. But first on MUTV [the club’s official channel] – it is logical.”

It recently emerged that Manchester United are calm about De Gea’s contract situation and they are confident that the Spaniard’s future lies at Old Trafford.
