FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has expressed his faith in club manager Luis Enrique.
Speaking to the media before a Christmas lunch, Bartomeu said: “We have enthusiasm and trust in Luis Enrique to pull forward the club’s sporting project”.
Former Barcelona player Enrique, who took over managerial duties at the start of the current season, has come under increasing scrutiny as the Catalan club trail Real Madrid by four points in La Liga.
The Catalans won their Champions League group ahead of French champions Paris Saint-Germain however.

Looking ahead to the season as the team prepare to take on Manchester City in the Champions League round of 16, Bartomeu said: “There are some fantastic months of excitement ahead.
“We have confidence in him because he deserves it”, he further added.
Barcelona play Cordoba this Saturday in the league where they will look to secure three points to stay hot on the heels of Real Madrid.
