Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has hailed Erik Lamela for his superb goal against Burnley in a 2-1 win today, but has also advised the Argentine to keep fighting.

Harry Kane handed the hosts the lead in the 21st minute, but Burnley quickly drew level in the 27th minute, Ashley Barnes hitting a right-footed shot following an assist from George Boyd.

Tottenham though benefited from a spark of genius from Lamela, who struck a beautiful left-footed shot into the goal in the 34th minute, bulging the back of the net.

2-1 was how it finished at White Hart Lane, delighting Pochettino, who felt his side ground out the win.

"It was a hard win but after six days it was our third game. It was difficult but we are very pleased with our players. It was a big effort from them", Pochettino was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"Burnley are a physical team with lots of long balls and Federico Fazio performed very well."

And Pochettino had warm words for Lamela, while also telling him to keep working hard.

"Erik Lamela's strike was special.

"He is still young and he needs to keep fighting to show his quality."
