Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn is pleased with Billy Sharp's performance in his side's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest today.

Redfearn picked Sharp in the starting line-up for the game at the City Ground, relegating Souleymane Doukara to the bench as a result.

Nottingham Forest took the lead in the 45th minute, but after Sam Byram was brought down in the 54th minute, Sharp slotted home the equaliser from the penalty spot.

For Redfearn, it was no less than the striker deserved.

"I was pleased for Billy Sharp today", he told LUTV.

"I thought he deserved his penalty. He worked so hard as well for the team, he tracked back and he made it difficult for Forest.

"I'm pleased for the lad", Redfearn added.

Sharp arrived at Leeds from Southampton over the summer, but has slipped down the striking pecking order as Doukara and Mirco Antenucci have found themselves the preferred pair in attack.
