Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn admits he could have both defender Giuseppe Bellusci and midfielder Rudy Austin back and available for selection for the Boxing Day clash with Wigan Athletic.

Both Bellusci and Austin were missing today as Leeds ground out a valuable 1-1 draw away at Nottingham Forest, which sees them 18th in the Championship with 24 points from 22 games.

Redfearn though is hopeful that the pair will be in the mix when Wigan visit Elland Road.

Indeed, the Leeds boss revealed that he could have included Austin today, but wanted to be cautious with the midfielder.

"We're just mindful of Rudy", he told LUTV.

"He perhaps could have gone on the bench, but I think it was a wise thing to do to let him have a session back at the Thorp Arch.

"As regards Giuseppe, he'll be back to full training on Monday. So we've now got a bit of healthy competition."
