Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is delighted that Radamel Falcao scored against Aston Villa today.

Van Gaal selected Falcao in his starting eleven at Villa Park and was not disappointed when the Colombian sent a powerful header past Brad Guzan in the Aston Villa goal to level the game at 1-1.

1-1 was how it finished and Van Gaal believes Falcao needed a goal to kickstart his time at Old Trafford.

He told MUTV: "It was a fantastic goal and I am very happy for Falcao because he needed that, but I am always happy when Manchester United score!"
