Schalke have ended speculation about Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's future by persuading him to sign a new contract.

Huntelaar had been due to see his deal expire next summer, which had led to links with a number of clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

However, the Dutchman has now committed his future to Schalke and signed a deal running until 30th June, 2017.

The Dutchman is Schalke's second highest goalscorer of all time, having hit 101 goals for the club in 160 games.
