Former PSV Eindhoven coach Dick Advocaat believes that Memphis Depay is sure to leave the Philips Stadion sooner rather than later.

Depay enjoyed a superb season with the Eredivisie giants last term and capped that off by excelling at the World Cup with the Netherlands.

He was strongly linked with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur over the summer, while those links have persisted despite him penning a new contract.

And Advocaat, who is a firm fan of Depay, believes the Netherlands international winger will soon bid farewell to PSV.

"Depay is a boy with a great future", Advocaat told FOX Sports.

"It's just a matter of time, then he's gone", the veteran coach added.

And Advocaat looked back to his own time in charge of PSV for a comparison.

"I had Dries Mertens. Mertens had, the season before, scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists.

"Such a player will go fast."
