Inter are confident of signing Lucas Leiva from Liverpool on loan next month, believing regular first team football will be too much for the Brazilian to resist.

Lucas has slipped down the pecking order under Brendan Rodgers at Anfield and cannot be sure of a regular first team spot.

The midfielder was chased by Napoli in the summer, but ended up staying put at Liverpool.

However, Inter coach Roberto Mancini has asked the club hierarchy to sign Lucas next month to add further bite to his midfield.

And according to Italian daily Tuttosport, Inter are confidently lining up a loan move.

The Italian giants believe the opportunity to play regularly will be important to Lucas ahead of the 2015 Copa America.

Lucas is desperate to be included in Brazil coach Dunga's squad for the tournament, but knows he will only stand a chance if he is playing regularly.
