Arsene Wenger believes that Thierry Henry had everything as a player, something which was helped by one vital ingredient: passion.

Wenger snapped up Henry for Arsenal in 1999, tempting the Frenchman to leave Juventus to head to north London.

At Arsenal, Henry became a legend, powering his way to becoming the club's all-time top goalscorer with 228 goals in all competitions.

He headed to Barcelona in 2007 before finishing his career with a stint in the MLS at New York Red Bulls, joining the American side in 2010 and retiring only last week; Henry also briefly returned to Arsenal on loan, in 2012.

Now has been the time to reflect on Henry's career for many of the game's icons and Wenger, who has regularly lavished praise on the 37-year-old, feels he had it all.

"He had the full range [of skills] of a high level player", Wenger told TF1.

"He combined technical finesse, the qualities of a great athlete and, more important again, he had the passion [for the game]."

Henry has taken a role as a TV pundit in England, but Wenger has tipped him to return to Arsenal in some capacity in the future.
