Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies feels that his team should try to play the same way as they are doing at the moment in order to improve on their league standing.

The Lilywhites won their third match in a row as they defeated Burnley 2-1 on Saturday and are now placed seventh in the league table with 27 points from 17 matches.

For Davies, for whom it was his 16th appearance of the season, the win was special as it came against tough opponents, who prefer to play a physical game.

“We were up against tough opposition playing a tough, physical game”, Davies told his club's official site.

"We definitely didn’t give Burnley too many opportunities to score, so that was a positive for us.

“When the team is on a good run you’re going to try to keep the same way of playing.

“We’ve been playing quite well and [Saturday] was another solid performance for us, so we’re all happy with the result.”

Tottenham will visit Leicester on Boxing Day followed by a match against Manchester United on Sunday.
