Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson believes the new look formation deployed by Brendan Rodgers in their last three matches can help revive the team’s fortunes and resurrect their season.

Beleaguered manager Rodgers has been trying different things for the last three matches in order to help the team, struggling to find their form from last season, after the arrival of several new faces following the departure their talisman Luis Suarez, while Daniel Sturridge has been injured.

The manager has put Raheem Sterling up front and has deployed a 3-4-3 formation. The new tactical switch has seen Liverpool achieve favourable results in their last two matches.

Club vice-captain Jordan Henderson, has voiced his support for the tactical change.

"We have looked good in that formation, it's been good so far and we'll keep working on it”, he was quoted as saying by the club’s site.

Speaking about the systemic improvement in the team’s play, the England international noted: "The passing, the movement and the penetration in behind is also better. It's such an important time of the year with so many points up for grabs.

"Hopefully we can keep building on it and keep picking up points. We're getting back to the levels we know we can play at. If we keep playing like that, then the results will follow."

Liverpool will hope to continue their upward trajectory when they face relegation contenders Burnley this Boxing Day.
