Leeds united striker Billy Sharp feels that his team need to build on the momentum that they were able to manage with the draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Peacocks left the disappointment of two straight losses against Fulham and Ipswich Town behind them to draw the match at the City Ground 1-1.

Sharp, for whom it was the first start since September, thinks that a point was good enough as he believes this could pave the way for a string of positive performances.

"To get a point way from home at Nottingham Forest, I’m sure the fans will say the same, it’s a good point", Sharp told his club's official site.

"We needed a win because we haven’t got the right results lately, but it’s something to build on."

Neil Redfearn's team will host Wigan next on 26th December, a match that the former Southampton player believes his team will win at home to continue with their good work.

"Hopefully we’ll go into the home game with Wigan and get the win.

"We just need some momentum where we can win two games on the trot and then we can go away from home and get a point and get the confidence back."

The 28-year-old also believes that his team have no dearth of talent, as they have players who have experienced playing in the Premier League as well.

"There are some great players here, players who have played in the Premier League as well.

"When you look at the table, it’s not nice. You don’t want to be down there, but if we can get two or three wins on the trot it shoots you up the table."
