Sporting Lisbon president Bruno de Carvalho is hoping Cristiano Ronaldo would like to end his career with the Portuguese giants.

The Portuguese superstar joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2003 after he impressed Sir Alex Ferguson in a pre-season friendly against the Red Devils.

Since then Ronaldo has been collecting accolades and trophies, first at Manchester United and then at Real Madrid.

He has won four league titles in two countries, two Champions League crowns and was twice named FIFA’s World Player of the Year.

Carvalho is proud of what Ronaldo has achieved in his career so far and is hoping that the former Sporting academy player decides to end his career at his former club.

“I am very happy for his career”, the Sporting president told reporters.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world and we are proud to have a talent like him in the national team.

“If he decides to return to Sporting, it will be an honour for us. Maybe he will choose to end his career with us.”
