Aston Villa have succeeded in their appeal against Gabriel Agbonlahor's red card in their 1-1 weekend draw with Manchester United.

Agbonlahor was given his marching orders following a challenge on Manchester United winger Ashley Young, which replays showed to be a harsh call.

Villa appealed and the FA has now rescinded the red card, meaning he is available to face Swansea on Boxing Day.

However, there is a sting in the tail for the Premier League outfit.

Indeed, Aston Villa have been hit with a charge of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in the events surrounding Agbonlahor's sending off.

Aston Villa have been given until 6pm on 30th December to respond.
