French side Nice are eyeing a January move for Newcastle United flop Hatem Ben Arfa.

The 27-year-old has seen his season-long loan deal at Hull City terminated after falling foul of manager Steve Bruce at the KC Stadium.

There is no place back at parent club Newcastle for the former Marseille winger, who is now on the lookout for a new club to join in the new year.

And he is set to be offered a chance to relaunch his career back in his homeland.

According to French broadcaster Canal +, Nice coach Claude Puel wants to snap up Ben Arfa when the transfer window swings open in just over a week.

It remains to be seen whether Ben Arfa is attracted to the idea of returning to France, but strutting his stuff in Ligue 1 could open the door to the country's national team, for whom he has accumulated 13 caps since 2007.
