Veteran Leeds United defender Stephen Warnock admits he is in the dark over whether he will be offered a new contract at the Championship club.

Warnock, who has consistently been thrown the captain's armband by boss Neil Redfearn of late, is out of contract at Elland Road next summer.

The left-back, who was played his part in Liverpool's 2005 Champions League triumph, turned 33 years old earlier this month.

He admits he has heard nothing over a new contract at Elland Road and is simply focusing on producing performances on the pitch in the expectation that may persuade the club to act.

"Nothing has been mentioned", Warnock admitted to LUTV, when asked about his contractual situation.

"It's one of those things.

"If something pops up then we will sit down and talk about it", the left-back continued.

"But at the moment I've just got to concentrate on playing well, week in, week out, which is more important at the moment. You'll always get rewarded if you're playing well.

"That's the only thing I can do, play well, and hopefully things will look after themselves."
