Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to rival Arsenal for the signature of former Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye next month.

Cabaye, who left Newcastle in January this year to sign for Paris Saint-Germain, has been continually linked with Arsenal, where Arsene Wenger is a confirmed admirer.

The Frenchman has struggled to carve out a regular starting spot at PSG and as a result has been tipped to exit the Parc des Princes in the new year.

However, it is not just Arsenal that are on Cabaye's tail according to France Football, with Tottenham showing real interest in the midfielder.

Cabaye has managed 13 appearances for PSG so far this season in Ligue 1, but has never been given the full 90 minutes by coach Laurent Blanc.

In the Champions League too Cabaye has been a fringe performer, clocking up only three appearances, and those being 19, 20 and four minute stints respectively.

He is under contract in the French capital until 2017.
