Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has expressed his surprise at Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger getting stick from fans, in spite of his contribution to the team.

Wenger's team have failed to win the league title since 2004 and fan frustration reached new heights when the veteran manager was abused by the fans following their 3-2 defeat against Stoke City in early December.

Redknapp, whose side take on the Gunners on Boxing Day, believes that Wenger is a great manager and it is surprising to see him getting stick from fans after so many years.

"I can’t believe why Arsene Wenger would get any stick”, Redknapp told his club's official site.

Redknapp also believes that in spite of all the difficulties in the early half of the season, the Gunners will be able to pick themselves up and finish in the top four of the Premier League.

“They’re a good side and I still believe they will finish in the top four. They do it every year and I don’t see why they can’t do it again."

According to the 67-year-old, Wenger's side are always delightful to watch in the way they play, the way they move and the way they pass the ball.

“They’ve had lots of injuries to key players, but they are still a very, very good side. The way they play, the movement, the passing, they’re a good team to watch.”
