Fernando Torres and Alessio Cerci are swapping clubs, with the striker heading to Atletico Madrid and the winger departing for AC Milan.

Torres is on loan at AC Milan from Chelsea for a period of two years, but the Rossoneri are transferring the loan agreement to Atletico Madrid.

Cerci, who joined Atletico Madrid from Torino in the summer, has struggled to adapt to life in Spain and is heading home.

According to multiple reports from Italy, the deal is done, and could be finalised as soon as Saturday.

However, with both Italy and Spain on their respective winter breaks, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid have time to put the finishing touches to the agreement.

Torres had been linked with returning to former club Liverpool and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers refused to confirm or deny wanting the Spaniard at a press conference earlier today.

The striker's future though is back at his first club in football, Atletico Madrid.
