Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has refused to be drawn on speculation he wants to snap up goalkeeper Petr Cech and striker Fernando Torres next month.

The January transfer window is just over a week away and Liverpool have been linked with Chelsea custodian Cech and Torres, who is on loan at AC Milan from the Blues.

But Rodgers, who admitted he will look to add to his squad if he has the chance, will not comment specifically about the pair and batted away speculation.

"They'll always be speculation and in my time here that has always been here", Rodgers told a press conference.

"But like always, I won't comment on any player who has been linked to here. My focus is on working with the players that are currently here.

"If there is a possibility to strengthen in January, we will look at that for the right type of player", the Liverpool manager added.

Liverpool face Burnley on Boxing Day as they look to build on their weekend 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Anfield.
